EGGFLIP started in Minnesota with one goal: to bring exciting new flavors to the breakfast scene. Since then, we’ve become known for our creative egg sandwiches and breakfast burritos, which draw inspiration from both Korean and American cuisines.
Chef Flip Koumalasy
Chef Flip Koumalasy, the creative force and owner behind EGGFLIP , brings over 15 years of culinary expertise to the table, skillfully blending influences from across Asian cuisines into bold and innovative dishes. Raised in Minneapolis, Flip’s culinary journey began with a deep appreciation for food as a way to connect people and celebrate diverse cultures.
Flip’s career was shaped by invaluable experiences working alongside some of the industry’s finest talents in both Minnesota and California. Starting as an executive chef specializing in Thai cuisine and sushi, he earned accolades at an award-winning restaurant, mastering the art of bold flavors and refined presentation. In California, he continued refining his skills in sushi and other Asian cuisines before returning to Minnesota to share his expertise. From working in top-tier restaurants and food trucks to now owning his own brick-and-mortar establishments, Flip’s heart has always been in food.
Through EGGFLIP , Chef Flip showcases his dedication to blending traditional culinary techniques with innovative ideas, offering diners a fresh and exciting perspective on Asian-inspired cuisine. Beyond the kitchen, Flip is committed to fostering an inviting and inclusive atmosphere that reflects his belief in food as a unifying force—bringing people together and creating cherished memories.
